Tamworth Astronomy Club members invite you to join five days PACKED with discovery…
• Learn about satellite flying from Lockheed Martin space engineers.
• Learn about mirror and lens grinding, polishing and coating.
• Full day workshop to learn to capture, photo stack and enhance astrophotos.
• Visit Siding Spring Observatory and iTelescope behind the scenes
• Visit Lowe Observatory, an amazing privately owned facility.
• Guided tour behind the scenes of some very large historic telescopes…The Hewitt Camera Space Telescope, the APT, the Uppsala Southern Schmidt Telescope and the Jos Roberts 36”.
• Meet and work each day with Dr Stephen Bosi, senior physics teacher from the University of New England.
• Includes membership of Tamworth Regional Astronomy Club Inc (tamworthastronomy.com.au)
• Join the Association of Variable Star Observers. Become a comet recorder and a contributing citizen scientist.
• Maybe a few surprises as well!…and enjoy the extraordinary sights, sounds and hospitality of Tamworth, NSW.
• ELIGIBILITY: Anyone 18 years and over is eligible; no experience is required. Maximum of 20 places.
• WHEN: 24th-28th October, 2022.
• LOCATION: The incredible Tamworth Astronomy and Science Centre, Piper Street Tamworth, NSW, Australia. COST: $2,200 per person. Includes all activities; excludes accommodation and your transport to Tamworth.
• This is a scientific and fundraising venture for the Tamworth Regional Astronomy Club Inc. (A registered not-for-profit charity).
