Frost Over Barraba Arts Festival is a community art event held in the northern inland town of Barraba. Run for nearly 50 years, Frost has grown is a celebration of visual arts and so much more. It encourages participation from the novice to the experienced.
Frost Over Barraba is excited to introduce the “Inside 55” Art Show. Entrants are asked to keep their artworks inside the dimension 55x55cm this year.
Frost’s major prize has been increased to $4,000, with an overall prize pool on offer of $6,500.
The venue for the Art Show is new this year with the exhibition moving to Barraba’s historic Treloar’s Building at 75 Queen Street. The two large, linked, Victorian era shops have high ceilings and generous shopfronts. They are located at the corner of Queen St and Alice St Barraba. One of Barraba’s popular public artworks, “Beyond the Walls” by Jenny McCracken is situated on the external wall on Alice Street.
