Kelcie Bryant-Duguid’s ‘The girl who climbed trees’ opens on Friday 20 October at Tamworth Regional Gallery with guest speaker Wendy Roe, Curator of Australian Wearable Art Festival. The exhibition includes wearable art garments, textiles, installation, sculpture, and encaustic mixed media works, featuring a wide repertoire of textile techniques, processes, and applications utilising traditional and non-traditional materials the artist has become known for.
Wearable artworks provide a canvas that evoke memories of childhood, represent images of domestic life, and explore the journey of women. Works examine the importance of language and how it shapes cultural expectation, responsibility, political action, and issues pertaining to women.
With guest speaker, Wendy Rowe, Curator of the Australian Wearable Art Festival.
