Printmaking with Emily Redman – Create Something Uniquely You!
Discover the versatile world of printmaking with local artist Emily Redman in this workshop designed for younger artists.
Traditionally used for mass media production, printmaking has a rich history in books, newspapers, textiles, posters, and fine art.
In this session, children will explore the basics of screen-printing and portraiture. They’ll create their own portraits using collage, drawing, and screen-printing techniques.
Participants will learn about the importance of stencils in printmaking and use various materials like pencils, markers, and watercolors to design a patterned background that reflects their unique personalities.
Younger children will start with an easy template, while older participants will work with a more detailed one. Every student will have multiple opportunities to use professional printmaking tools and experience the satisfaction of pulling their own prints.
