In Conversation: Stuart Boggs

9 February @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDT

Join trained geologist and contemporary painter Stuart Boggs as he shares insights into his artistic practice, method, inspiration, and stories behind his artworks on exhibit as part of The Geology of the New England and Surrounding Areas. The artist talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

Stuart Boggs – Artist’s Bio

Stuart Boggs is a Contemporary Landscape Artist and trained geologist who has lived in the New England area for most of his life. He was born in Inverell and currently lives in Armidale.

Stuart paints with oils and acrylics, trying to capture the ever-changing Australian landscape, predominantly of his local New England area. Combining these two disciplines, geology and art, Stuart comments on the geology of the New England and surrounding areas. Working from maps as a reference and memories of visited sites over the years.

Boggs’ works are about the landscape of these particular sites, their underlying geology, the evidence of time and erosion, and particular emotions encountered upon his reacquaintance.

All welcome to join us and learn about Stuart’s story, passion and artistic practice, which led to the exhibition The Geology of the New England and Surrounding Areas.
