The Country Championships Race Day

Get ready Tamworth! The Evergreen Turf Country Championships heads to the Hunter & Northwest region on Sunday 9th March and it’s set to be a fantastic day of racing.

Don’t miss out on this thrilling day of racing and festivities! Come along and cheer for your favourite horses and jockeys as they vie for glory at the Tamworth Jockey Club.

About The Series

  • The Country Championships consists of a series of seven races, each held at a club representing one racing region in NSW.
  • Each race will be worth $150,000 in prizemoney and will be contested by eligible horses that must be under the care of a country trainer in that region.
  • The first and second horse in each regional race will qualify for the $1,000,000 Country Championships Final to be held at Royal Randwick in Sydney on Day 1 of The Championships, Saturday 5 April 2025.
