About the play – Australia, 1942.
Fourteen-year-old Danny Fisher is coming of age at a time when his city adjusts to the impacts of war. Danny blocks out the world with the pages of his many stories. But when his beloved brother Frank is killed in the Pacific War, Danny’s family is changed forever. Ripe with emotional resonance and surprising comedy, Danny Fisher is a celebration of a childhood and a city – and a requiem for all that was lost.
