Join us for an empowering evening dedicated to rural women and their pivotal roles in our communities. Rural Women’s Day 2024 – Turning the Tables is set to spark engaging conversations, challenge preconceived notions, and redefine what truly matters for rural women today.
Our focus is to turn the tables on outdated perspectives and highlight the real issues that influence the lives of rural women. From health and agriculture to education, family, and career, this event will tackle the topics that matter most.
Event Highlights:
✨ Keynote + Q&A: We are so thrilled to be bringing you the amazing Dr Casey Sullivan, NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year. Casey will speak about her work in the Tamworth community as a GP and her mission to advocate for women in domestic violence and family violence situations. Dr Casey Sullivan is proud Wiradjuri and Gamilaroi woman, and a General Practitioner (GP) who owns her own medical practice in Tamworth – the first Indigenous privately-owned and managed GP practice in NSW. She is committed to increasing medical accessibility and cultivating change in the North West NSW community.
✨ Panel Q&A: This year we are excited to be bringing a diverse mix of wonderful humans to our Rural Women’s Day panel – with Meg Kennedy from Marketing Directive, Katherine Sherrie from FPM Cereal Milling and Matt Bettesworth from Camp Grounds Coffee. From the “mum funk” to managing a male-dominated workplace to co-founding and running a business with your wife and young family – there is so much to hear from these wonderful speakers.
✨ Supporting Allawah Cottage, Gunnedah: This year, Rural Women’s Day will include a fundraiser for Allawah Cottage in Gunnedah – a wonderful organisation that help support women, children and their pets leaving domestic violence situations. We will have a raffle, lucky door prizes and more in exchange for donations to the Cottage! You will also be able to purchase Allawah Cottage Merchandise and hear more about the wonderful work they do! This year, rather than gift bags – all our energy and funds will be going to Allawah Cottage!
✨ Dance the night away with DJ and Saxophonist – DJ Betty Swing – very rarely do we get the opportunity to have the girls together and celebrate a good cause – and at GRO Events Group – we love a celebration with a LOT of fun! This year we have DJ Betty Swing coming to The Tamworth Hotel for the evening. Dancing shoes will be essential!
Ticket price includes:
– Canapes on arrival
– Walk and Fork dinner
– Glass of sparkling or non-alcoholic drink on arrival
– Speakers
– DJ & Saxophonist into the evening at The Tamworth Hotel
Mark your calendars and be part of the conversation. Let’s come together to celebrate and support the incredible women who shape our rural communities.
