History and Heritage
A town with a rich history and a dubious bushranger historical connection, as one of the first towns notorious bushranger Thunderbolt struck.
The heritage listed Old Bendemeer Bridge is a rustic ode to engineering techniques of the past. Constructed in 1905, it was in service for 80 years.
No longer accessible by car, the 90-metre structure is a must see at sunrise or sunset.
